What does inherit mean

In the wordpress file what does inherit mean. the other status types seem to be self explanatory.

I'm not too sure but it seems to be there for a lot of Wordpress files. Might as well tag it as 'published' for Drupal purposes.

The only one that really needs to be tagged as 'not published' would be the Wordpress 'draft' status.
